Cleaning burnt pans: Place a few spoons of baking soda with a squirt of diswashing liquid in the pan and then fill it with water to a depth of 3cm. Bring the water to boil and let it cool. It will be easy to remove burnt bits after.
Sluggish sink drains: Pour half a cup of baking soda into the drain, followed by half a cup of white vinegar. Cover the drain to allow the liquids to foam then pour in eight cups of hot water. The drains should flow easier. Do not combine this method with any commercial cleansing agents.
Encrusted faucets and taps: Use half a lemon to rub over lime and mineral encrusted areas. Leave for a while and scale will be easy to remove.
Stained marble tops: Rub lemon(even used one) over the stained counter tops to remove the dirts and stains before you throw it.
“No one who cooks, cooks alone. Even at her most solitary, a cook in the kitchen is surrounded by generations of cooks past, the advice and menus of cooks present, the wisdom of cookbook writers.” ― Laurie Colwin
