sundaikai(turkey berry) tangy curry
green turkey berry( sundaikai) - 150 gm
shallots chopped - 1 cup
tomato - 2
sambar powder - 2-3 teaspoon
tamarind pulp - 100 ml
jaggery - 1 teaspoon
pepper, cumin powder - 2 teaspoon
garlics minced - 3
turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
gingelly oil - 50 ml
salt to taste

To season
mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
asafoetida - 2 pinch
curry leaves little
fenugreek - 3 seeds

Pepper, cumin powder: Both have to taken in 1:1 ratio, roast dry and grind to powder.

Heat oil in tava. Ad shallots, finely cut tomatoes, garlic. Stir well with salt till tomatoes are smashed well. Add the turkey berries, sambar powder, turmeric powder and mix well. Do not add water. Close the lid and allow the berries to get cooked in low flame and then and then stirring. When cooked add tamarind pulp, pepper, jeera powder and jaggery. Mix well. Cook till oil separates and season it. This goes well for rice and can be used as side for curd rice.

Turkey berry is very good for kids as it expells worms from stomach. It is a sedative, diuretic and digestive properties, treatment for coughs. It is a tonic for liver.
