Potato Bonda

For Vegetable balls
Steamed potatoes - 3
grated cabbage - 200gm
grated carrot - 100gm
green chilli - 4-5
onion chopped - 2
curry leaves
corriander leaves
pudina (mint leaves)
Oil to fry (Rice Bran preferred for frying for sake of good health)
salt to taste
turmeric powder - 1/4 spoon
For batter
Besan flour (gram flour) - 250gm
rice flour or corn flour - 50gm
salt to taste
baking soda - a pinch
asafoetida - a pinch
Preparation of Vegetable balls
Heat 2 spoon of oil in tava. Add onion, fry till golden. Add cabbage, carrot, smashed potatoes, alt, chillies, turmeric powder and stir well till all get mixed well. Close the lid and after 2 minutes. Switch off the stove and make balls as shown below.
Preparation for batter
Mix besan flour, corn flour, salt, asafoetida, baking soda with enough water so as to make a batter.

Preparation for Bonda
Heat oil in pan, put the balls in batter, roll it and then deep fry it. Its an yummy nutritious snack of vegetables liked by kids and all. Goes well with coconut chutney.
